DALLAS, Jun 27, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- BillMatrix Corp., a provider of outsourced telephone and Internet-based payment services and a business unit of Fiserv Inc. (Nasdaq:FISV), today announced that Scott B. Walker, president and CEO of BillMatrix, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year(R) 2006 Award in the services category for the Southwest region. Walker was selected by an independent panel of judges and the award was presented at an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 20th anniversary gala event at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas on Saturday, June 17, 2006.

"I am truly honored to have won this award and to share that honor with my colleagues at BillMatrix," Walker said. "We have remained focused on a singular objective of helping our biller clients simplify the payment process for their customers. By not wavering from that idea, the company has become a great success story."

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award program celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2006 and continues to honor entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. "Ernst & Young is proud of its history in recognizing these outstanding leaders and their companies," said Larry Haynes, southwest area partner and leader of the strategic growth markets for Ernst & Young.

"Scott's vision and leadership has been the driving force behind the exceptional growth of BillMatrix," said Mark Taber, a partner with Boston-based Great Hill Partners, who invested in the company in 2003. "He has built an organization that has evolved from a small, entrepreneurial firm into a market leader that continues to set the pace for innovation in a rapidly changing industry."

As a Southwest area award winner, Walker is now eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2006 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif., on November 18, 2006. The overall national Entrepreneur of the Year Award recipient is then considered for the world event held in Monte Carlo.
