Fiserv Health Consumer Connection(SM) to Link Health and Wealth; Integrated Platform Combines Banking, Health, and Disease Management

May 31, 2006

MINNEAPOLIS, May 31, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Fiserv Health, a business group of Fiserv, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISV), has launched a new consumer-driven health care offering, the Fiserv Health Consumer Connection(SM). The program provides interactive tools and financial incentives that give plan members a personal stake in their health benefits which, in turn, helps drive down the cost of health care for plan sponsors. Consumer Connection offers an integrated benefit design and administration platform that connects employers, plan administrators, health care providers, financial institutions and plan members, allowing fast and simple tracking and coordination of benefits, funds and claims activity. Fiserv Health's Consumer Connection also provides accessible disease and resource management tools for plan members. Fiserv Health's new offering will allow self-funded employers to quickly implement consumer-directed health plans that every employee can enroll in and benefit from.

"Consumer Connection moves beyond simple administration and claims payment for various high deductible health plan options," said Jay Anliker, president of Fiserv Health Plan Services. "Consumer Connection increases member participation, educates about health consumerism and assists in making informed healthcare decisions. The result is a comprehensive and flexible offering that allows every plan member to enroll in a consumer-directed health plan and provides employers an opportunity to better manage its medical plan expenses."

Among the unique tools Consumer Connection offers are:

-- Member Activation Leader: designs plan solutions and provides consultative services

-- Consumer Concierge(SM): provides knowledgeable customer service

-- Care-Targeted Benefits: motivates members to control certain chronic conditions by providing funds that pay for certain chronic conditions

-- Personal Messaging: suggests ways to improve health care quality and reduce out-of-pocket expenses, customized to the employee

-- Tangible Incentives: rewards behavior changes through HRA contribution incentives

-- Integrated pharmacy benefits

-- 24-hour health information

-- Lines of credit

-- Discount card & multi-purse debit card

"Consumer Connection can significantly increase member engagement and participation in their health benefit. We've created and, more importantly, integrated a proprietary suite of interactive tools designed to reward employees for better quality of health and better utilization of resources," said Fiserv Health product director Jay Coldwell.
