Fiserv Gives Back: Volunteer Effort Exceeds Goal of 25,000 Hours, Supports Organizations in Lincoln Area and around the World

Brookfield, Wis., December 8, 2009 - Fiserv, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV), the leading global provider of financial services technology solutions, today announced that in recognition of its 25th year as a company, Fiserv employees have reached and in fact will far exceed the goal of donating 25,000 volunteer hours to hundreds of charitable organizations across the world during the company's anniversary year. Fiserv was formed in 1984, when Sunshine State Systems, Inc. in Tampa, Fla. and First Data Processing based in Milwaukee, Wis., combined to form the first national financial services technology provider. Fiserv has grown over the two and half decades into a Fortune 500 Company with nearly $5 billion in revenues. Currently there are approximately 750 associates in the Lincoln area.

The "Fiserv Gives Back: 25 for 25" community service program was launched in July to mark the 25th anniversary of the company and give its 20,000 employees an opportunity to volunteer together to multiply their positive impact in local communities. Fiserv employees volunteered to help hundreds of organizations including local schools, civic groups, children's organizations, shelters, food pantries, animal shelters, community events, fundraisers for research into cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and various other worthy causes.

"In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Fiserv, our organization set a worldwide goal of contributing 25,000 volunteer hours to the communities where we live and work, and we're pleased to have exceeded that number in just a few months," said Tom Cypher, president of Bank Solutions at Fiserv. "The team based here on the Fiserv Lincoln campus has always been committed to this community that's contributed so much to our success. And that our team has logged thousands of volunteer hours so quickly, certainly confirms their continuing loyalty to Nebraska. I'm personally honored to work with people who demonstrate this kind of passion and local leadership. All of us at Fiserv are fortunate to be able to have such a positive impact on our city and state."

Fiserv used a database for employees to record hours supporting the organizations and efforts of their choice. Company associates have logged more than 27,000 hours since the summer and are continuing to donate every day. Highlights of Fiserv volunteers from the Lincoln area who contributed above and beyond the call of duty are included below.

Rich Lowery, risk and compliance analyst, Risk and Performance, Bank Solutions, has volunteered with the Knights of Columbus for the last 26 years. Currently trustee for his local council and State Warden, he is responsible for overseeing council finances as well as raising donations and planning activities. Their largest fundraisers are a pancake breakfast, fish fries, and the annual Christmas dinner, where Rich and his dad cook a meal for 120 people. He also volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America and the Lincoln Southeast High School Marching Knights, where his sons are members.

Todd Lofton, software engineer, Production and Operations, Bank Solutions, first got involved in scouting about ten years ago when his son joined Cub Scout. Lofton has many fond memories of being a scout when he was growing up and wanted to give those same good experiences to his son and other young men in his community. Now as a leader of the Boy Scout troop, Lofton spends his time volunteering at troop meetings, fundraising activities and camping adventures. The troop of 12- to 18-year-olds meets weekly and goes camping at least once a month - even in the winter. Of his experience with the troop Lofton says, "I've seen these boys grow up to be good, well-behaved young men, and that gives me a lot of satisfaction."

Fiserv will continue to encourage employees to volunteer throughout the holiday season into March of next year. The company has announced a new goal of 50,000 hours by March 31, 2010 to continue the 25th anniversary celebration.
