Fiserv Gives Back: Volunteer Effort Exceeds Goal of 25,000 Hours, Supports Organizations in Atlanta and around the World

Brookfield, Wis., December 8, 2009 - Fiserv, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV), the leading global provider of financial services technology solutions, today announced that in recognition of its 25th year as a company, Fiserv employees have reached and in fact will far exceed the goal of donating 25,000 volunteer hours to hundreds of charitable organizations across the world during the company's anniversary year. Fiserv was formed in 1984, when Sunshine State Systems, Inc. in Tampa, Fla. and First Data Processing based in Milwaukee, Wis., combined to form the first national financial services technology provider. Fiserv has grown over the two and half decades into a Fortune 500 Company with nearly $5 billion in revenues. Fiserv acquired CheckFree Corporation, which was headquartered in Norcross, Ga., in December 2007. Currently there are approximately 1,800 Fiserv associates in the Atlanta area.

The "Fiserv Gives Back: 25 for 25" community service program was launched in July to mark the 25th anniversary of the company and give its 20,000 employees an opportunity to volunteer together to multiply their positive impact in local communities. Fiserv employees volunteered to help hundreds of organizations including local schools, civic groups, children's organizations, shelters, food pantries, animal shelters, community events, fundraisers for research into cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and various other worthy causes.

"Fiserv associates in Atlanta support financial institutions in Georgia and around the globe, and at the same time are making an impact in our community. In our 25th year we decided as a company to contribute 25,000 hours of volunteerism and are proud of our associates who have already exceeded this goal. It was interesting to learn more about the variety of causes our associates support - ranging from organizations that assisted flood victims, children and families, to local schools, scouting, efforts to fight disease and hunger, and so many more. 'Fiserv Gives Back' is a way to recognize our employees' efforts and say thanks to each one of them for their local leadership," explained Steve Olsen, Fiserv group president, Financial Institution Services.

Fiserv used a database for employees to log hours supporting the organizations and efforts of their choice. Company associates have logged more than 27,000 hours since the summer and are continuing to donate every day. Highlights of Fiserv volunteers from the Atlanta area who contributed above and beyond the call of duty are included below.

Dick Cline, manager software development, Risk and Performance Solutions, volunteers his time to the Boy Scouts of America working as a scout leader, committee chairman, taking his troop on a recent camping trip to the Okeefenokee Swamp, and leading a team on the Department of Natural Resources - Rivers Alive Clean Up Project at Buford Dam. Dick says he loved scouting as a child and got involved in volunteering when his son was in Cub Scouts. He chose scouting because it allows him to help his children and their friends to learn leadership skills that will benefit them into adulthood.

David Korb, ITSM process owner, Fiserv Enterprise Technology, volunteers to coach his two daughter's recreation league lacrosse team at Newtown Recreation in Johns Creek, Ga. David got involved in lacrosse four years ago when his oldest daughter played in high school. Despite the fact that David had never played or even seen lacrosse, he agreed to volunteer to coach. He says his children appreciate the time he devotes to their sport and the lesson of learning something new.

Steve Olsen, group president, Financial Institution Services, and his family served Thanksgiving dinner at the Atlanta Union Mission as well as donates time to defining new programs to get the homeless back on their feet. He is also a member of the board of the Atlanta Union Mission.

Toys for Tots - Fiserv employees are currently donating to help children in the Atlanta area have a happy holiday by taking part in the Toy and Gift Drive through December. All donated gifts will be distributed to youth service organizations around the area.

Fiserv will continue to encourage employees to volunteer throughout the holiday season into March of next year. The company has announced a new goal of 50,000 hours by March 31, 2010 to continue the 25th anniversary celebration.
