Fiserv Establishes Montana Presence with New Helena Processing Center; Participating Banks Will Now Have Access to a Myriad of Additional Resources

May 16, 2006

BROOKFIELD, Wis., May 16, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Fiserv Inc. (Nasdaq: FISV) today announced the successful launch of its new Helena (Montana) Item Processing Center. Three Rivers Bank of Montana, Kalispell, and Valley Bank of Kalispell already are utilizing the center to support operations. Fiserv is in the process of integrating two additional banks, enabling them to take advantage of the center's services.

The new processing center has the full capability of Fiserv's Check Image Item Processing for Montana-based financial institutions. All of the services flow seamlessly into the Fiserv Clearing Network to facilitate and improve the collection of checks. The Fiserv Clearing Network benefits each client with lower clearing fees and significantly reduced float expenses.

"We're very excited to enter the Montana market," said Teri Carstensen, president, U.S. Item Processing Operations for Fiserv. "Through the new processing center we'll be better able to serve existing clients, as well as expand into new markets to provide more cost-effective item processing alternatives."

Both Three Rivers Bank of Montana and Valley Bank of Kalispell interface with the processing center directly through their core processing system, which is provided by Information Technology, Inc. (ITI), a financial software and services provider and a business unit of Fiserv.

"Having Fiserv in Montana gives independent banks greater opportunities and an enhanced tool to help them succeed in today's competitive banking environment," said John King, president and CEO of Three Rivers Bank of Montana. "Montana needed a processing center in the state that offers connectivity to the ITI core processing system. Having utilized the ITI platform since 1981, we are one of the first banks to work with the system. As we continued to grow and increase our product offerings, we wanted a processing center that could communicate directly with our core system. Having the system directly interfaced with our processing center and in close proximity to the bank gives us the advantage of being able to speak in real time to the center and with those people who work to help the bank succeed."

Banks that utilize the Helena Processing Center will also benefit from access to a myriad of additional solutions and resources offered through the Fiserv Processing Center.

"The additional services and products that Fiserv makes available to the Montana market are outstanding," said Ron Rosenberg, president and CEO of Valley Bank of Kalispell. "Working with Fiserv has enabled the bank to implement additional features and resources that were not previously available to us, such as corporate online banking and the generation of in-house reports. Fiserv has successfully and efficiently worked with our staff to ensure a smooth system conversion. We look forward to the additional products and relationships that will be developed with Fiserv's help."
