Fiserv Announces New President for Emerald PublicationsSAN DIEGO--July 27, 2005--Fiserv, Inc. (Nasdaq:FISV), announced that Paul Peterson has been appointed president of Emerald Publications, a unit of Fiserv's Insurance Solutions Group.
"During the past two years as vice president of sales, Peterson has been a motivating force in Emerald's exceptional performance," said Terry Wade, president of Fiserv's Insurance Solutions Group. "His innovation and industry knowledge have reenergized the sales organization and we look forward to his continuing success as president of Emerald Publications."
Peterson succeeds the company's outgoing president, Craig Faulkner, who launched Emerald Publications in 1986. With Faulkner as president and Jeff Hawkes as executive vice president, Emerald gained a reputation as an innovative financial marketing organization and an industry leader. Fiserv acquired Emerald in 1997.
Faulkner plans to spend more time with his family. Hawkes also is leaving and plans to start a real estate development company. "I'm confident that I'm leaving Emerald in capable hands," said Faulkner. "Paul Peterson's extensive industry experience and strong management skills will assure the continued growth of Emerald."
Prior to joining Emerald Publications, Peterson owned and operated a large insurance agency in San Diego, Calif., and is recognized nationwide as an expert in the area of financial marketing. He lives in Poway, Calif., with his wife Marci and their four children.
