Disability Equality Index recognizes businesses that are positively impacting the employment of people with disabilities

BROOKFIELD, Wis., July 19, 2021Fiserv, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV), a leading global provider of payments and financial services technology solutions, was today named one of the Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion for the third consecutive year. Fiserv is a top-scoring company on the 2021 Disability Equality Index (DEI), acknowledged as the most robust disability inclusion assessment tool in business.

The DEI was launched in 2015 by Disability:IN and The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), and was created by the DEI Advisory Committee, a diverse group of business leaders, policy experts and disability advocates. Now in its seventh year, the DEI this year recognized 319 companies’ disability inclusion efforts, and exists to help businesses make a positive impact on the unemployment and underemployment of people with disabilities.

“Inclusion and accessibility cuts across the enterprise, from cultural representation in the workforce, to technology acceleration, to incorporating supply chain diversity,” said Jill Houghton, President & Chief Executive Officer at Disability:IN. “These are tangible opportunities that leading companies can leverage to create sustainable impact for their business and brand.”

The Fiserv Disability Leadership Council, known as Thrive, partners with Disability:IN to provide customized, virtual and on-site consulting offered by a team of disability inclusion experts. The goal is to ensure Fiserv creates an environment of inclusion in which people with disabilities can participate fully and meaningfully. Fiserv has also signed the “Are You In?” pledge created by Disability:IN, demonstrating its commitment to diversity.

“Inclusive employment practices, from diversity and equity in hiring to workplace accessibility, are essential to building a high-performing organization,“ said Frank Bisignano, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fiserv. “A variety of voices and perspectives are welcome and encouraged at Fiserv, and we support each of our associates in reaching their greatest potential, both professionally and personally.”

“The Disability Equality Index shines a spotlight on companies that believe they have a stake in creating a more equitable society for people with disabilities,” said Maria Town, President and CEO of AAPD. “It is a conduit for our work championing disability rights for the 60 million Americans with disabilities and knocking down barriers to employment, technology and healthcare, and we're thrilled to see the progress being made today.”
