Mark Sievewright Joins Fiserv as Senior Vice President of Business DevelopmentBROOKFIELD, Wis.--Dec. 14, 2004--Mark Sievewright, former president and chief executive officer of TowerGroup, has joined Fiserv, Inc. (Nasdaq:FISV) as senior vice president of business development.

In his new role, Sievewright will use his broad experience in anticipating the direction of the financial services industry to help Fiserv better understand the future needs of clients, said Dean Schmelzer, Fiserv's group president of marketing and sales.

"Mark has an incredible ability to look at the major business and technology trends in the financial services industry and then turn those into ideas for technology vendors to better serve their clients and grow their businesses," Schmelzer said. "One of our top goals at Fiserv is to find more ways to expand the products and services we offer our financial institution clients. Mark's insights and industry knowledge - as well as his extensive contacts within the financial services industry - will prove very valuable as we develop our growth strategy."

After joining TowerGroup in 2000, Sievewright led the company's evolution into one of the financial services industry's leading research and advisory organizations. Sievewright left TowerGroup in May of this year after MasterCard Advisors, a subsidiary of MasterCard International, acquired TowerGroup.

"Fiserv is a world-class company and I am delighted to be joining the team," Sievewright said. "Over the past four years, I have worked with Fiserv on numerous occasions as a consultant. I know Fiserv - and its business - very well and have always been impressed by the company and its products and services. More than that, though, I've developed a deep respect for Fiserv's people. Fiserv's executive team is taking the company to the next level and I'm looking forward to playing my part in helping them get there."

Earlier in his career, Sievewright was president and chief executive officer at PSI (now part of TNS-NFO Worldgroup), a marketing information company specializing in financial services. He also was an executive at Europay International (MasterCard Europe) for five years, leading Europe-wide financial institution marketing, corporate communications and business/information technology management.

Sievewright began his career in financial services in 1979 at Midland Bank (HSBC) in the United Kingdom, where he held a variety of senior business management and operational roles within the bank's retail banking, card services and money transmissions divisions.
