“We are pleased that Fiserv is partnering with us in this initiative,” said Museum President and Chief Executive Officer Dan Finley. “Fiserv’s donation will be used to expand our Passport Distance Learning Program, which ‘transports’ entire classrooms into our museum for a virtual exploration of our exhibits to learn Wisconsin history, see amazing artifacts from past civilizations and experience environmental lessons.”

The Museum will purchase additional video conferencing equipment to expand the program during the 2009-10 academic year from grade school to include high school students both in Milwaukee Public Schools and school districts throughout Southeastern Wisconsin (Racine, Kenosha and Madison). This programming targets low-income students in the region, and also prepares teachers to meet new and additional national technology standards set to be implemented in 2012.

“This is an opportunity to reach out to the community around our corporate headquarters and help children of all ages develop a passion for lifelong learning, and prepare them to enter the workforce. We are pleased to be a part of the Museum’s programs and mission,” said Bridie Fanning, Fiserv Executive Vice President, Human Resources, and Milwaukee Public Museum Board Member.

On Saturday, August 8, Tom Warsop, Fiserv Group President Financial Institutions Services will present a check for $25,000 to Finley, to begin the sponsorship.
