BROOKFIELD, Wis., May 30, 2023 – Jean Johnson of Fiserv, Inc., a leading global provider of payments and financial services technology, has been named the winner of the Strategy category of the WeQual Awards, The Americas 2023. Johnson was awarded following an assessment that evaluated her leadership, strategic planning, resilience, integrity, emotional intelligence, approach to equality, and business knowledge.

As Senior Vice President and General Manager of PNC Merchant Services at Fiserv, Johnson is among the company’s most senior leaders. She has profit and loss responsibility for a significant line of business and is responsible for the payment processing experiences of 100,000 small businesses and enterprise clients. Johnson has displayed leadership through COVID-19, Paycheck Protection Program loan initiatives and shifting consumer behaviors. This includes overseeing double-digit compound annual growth rates for the company’s eCommerce platform and launching award-winning alternative payments and wallet offerings.

Johnson began her career as an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley before developing strategic planning and process insights at PepsiCo. She has worked for consumer internet companies including Netscape, EarthLink, and Excite@Home. At Victoria’s Secret, she led the customer experience practice for its multi-billion-dollar direct-to-consumer website. Johnson is a graduate of Spelman College and Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

The WeQual Awards are the only business awards which celebrate the achievements of senior executive women who have the leadership traits for future C-suite positions. The WeQual Awards are unique in that each category winner is determined by one of a prestigious panel of eight global CEOs. For The Americas 2023 chapter, finalists were judged by Executive Interviewers, which included the CEOs of Moody’s Corporation, Sanofi, and CGI Inc, amongst others. To reach the finals, applicants completed a reflective and challenging assessment, which is then anonymized and externally scored.
