BROOKFIELD, Wis., Jun 29, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Fiserv, Inc. (NASDAQ:FISV), the leading global provider of financial services technology solutions, announced today that Maryann Goebel has joined the company effective today as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, reporting to the CEO.

Goebel joins Fiserv with more than 30 years of progressive technology experience, which includes 15 years as a senior technology officer for some of the world's leading companies. Since 2006, she has served as executive vice president and CIO for DHL Express in Bonn, Germany where she managed an organization of 1,500 employees with responsibility for service delivery in more than 200 countries. Maryann has multiple experiences managing very large, complex technology organizations where technology was a key enabler in defining the markets in which those companies conducted business.

Prior to DHL Express, she held executive positions with a variety of sophisticated technology organizations including seven years cumulatively with General Motors, where she rose to CIO, North America, and CIO for GM Europe. Goebel was with PepsiCo Business Solutions Group, where she was CIO, Frito-Lay North America; Bell Atlantic where she rose to Vice President, Information Systems and Chief Information Officer, Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile; and technology management and information systems positions with Texas Instruments, ARCO Oil and Gas Company and The Southland Corporation. She began her career as a scientific systems programmer analyst with Philadelphia Electric Company.

Goebel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Mass. She will be located in the Company's Norcross, Ga., offices.
