Fiserv Gives Back: Volunteer Effort Exceeds Goal of 25,000 Hours, Supports Organizations in Ohio and around the World

Brookfield, Wis., December 11, 2009 - Fiserv, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV), the leading global provider of financial services technology solutions, today announced that in recognition of its 25th year as a company, Fiserv employees have reached and in fact will far exceed the goal of donating 25,000 volunteer hours to hundreds of charitable organizations across the world during the company's anniversary year. Fiserv was formed in 1984, when Sunshine State Systems, Inc. in Tampa, Fla. and First Data Processing based in Milwaukee, Wis., combined to form the first national financial services technology provider. Fiserv has grown over the two and half decades into a Fortune 500 Company with nearly $5 billion in revenues. Currently there are more than 900 Fiserv associates working in Ohio.

The "Fiserv Gives Back: 25 for 25" community service program was launched in July to mark the 25th anniversary of the company and give its 20,000 employees an opportunity to volunteer together to multiply their positive impact in local communities. Fiserv employees volunteered to help hundreds of groups, including local schools, children's organizations, shelters, food pantries, community events, fundraisers for research into cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and various other worthy causes.

"Fiserv is proud of our associates in Ohio and their commitment to the local community, giving their time to worthy groups year round. It is heartening to see the variety of causes we are associated with - ranging from helping people and animals, to environment conservation and protection, and so many other admirable causes. 'Fiserv Gives Back' is a way to recognize our employees' efforts and say thanks to each one of them for their commitment to the communities in which we live and work," explained Art D'Angelo, senior vice president, Electronic Banking Services, Fiserv in Dublin, Ohio.

Fiserv used a database for employees to record hours supporting the organizations and efforts of their choice. Company associates have logged more than 27,000 hours since the summer and are continuing to donate every day. Highlights of Fiserv volunteers from Ohio who contributed above and beyond the call of duty are included below.

Kelly Carr, senior training and organizational development consultant, Depository Institution Services, volunteers hundreds of hours to the group ADOPT, (Animals Depend on People Too), an all-breed animal shelter that rescues abandoned, neglected, abused or homeless pets and places them in caring homes. Kelly offers foster care for dogs, and works to educate the public on proper medical care and nutrition for their pets. Kelly has fostered more than 50 pets and says she volunteers because the need is so great and the reward is instantaneous.

Ashley Wollam, business analyst- staff, Electronic Banking Services, volunteers his time to the International Leadership Association, a global network for the study and teaching of leadership principles for the greater good of communities worldwide. Ashley traveled to Prague to help with the annual conference this year. He says, "There is nothing like investing your time and energy in an organization you know is going to have a positive impact on the world."

Tim Staab, staff software developer, Electronic Banking Services, leads study classes for prison inmates through the international program, Kairos Prison Ministries. Tim volunteers at a maximum security prison in Lucasville to help inmates make positive changes in their lives. He says, "I believe that the Kairos program improves the lives of inmates, many of whom are forgotten or despised by society. I have seen many participants transfer to lesser-security institutions because their behavior has improved."

The 25 for 25 program will continue till March next year. The company has announced a new goal of 50,000 hours by March 31, 2010 to continue the 25th anniversary celebration.
